it is estimated that over 80o,ooo people were murdered in the horrible genocide. what hurts he most about this is that as a whole, america di nothing. we didn't get involved and we didn't even label it as a genocde. this poor country was torn by two different cultures, the Hutu and the Tutsi. over the years the Hutu became very hostile towards the Tutsi and many rebellions against the Tutsi began planning their attacks. when the presidents plane was shot down, the Hutu broke lose and started murdering people in bulk. entire famlies were murdered in their home. When Tutsi's would try and escape and run for the boarders, they were tracked down and killed. women were raped then killed in front of children. Because the president, Habyararimana, was a Hutu, many hutu's felt the need to erase the whole Tutsi population.
