i chose this topic because of different reasons. i watched the movie Hotel Rwanda and when i was done, i fekt i needed to learn more about this particular event in history. i believe that before that movie came out, not alot of people in our society really knew about it. i personally didn't even know about it untill my freshman year in High School. that's really sad, seeing that this was such a huge deal and so many people lost their lives to it. i know that if this sort of thing happened in our day in age, and in our country, alot of the other countries would take notice. maybe because Rwanda is a smaller country in Africa that not alot of people know about it, but we all know about Hitler and what he did. this isn't much different. in fact in my eyes, this could be worse. there technically wasn't one person in charge of this and a whole population were killing their fellow Rwandans. i'm sincerely sorry for the families that were killed and the children that were left orphans.
